Game Of Thrones: Impact Of Edo Elections In 2023  Presidency And Tinubu’s Dwindling Chances(opinion)

The race to the 2023 Presidency has begun in earnest as political gladiators have started sharpening their tools in preparation for a great battle ahead.

From close observations, the PDP is battle-ready to slug it out with the ruling APC.

Expectedly the PDP may produce heavyweights like Nyesom Wike, Aminu Tambuwwal, Rabiu Kwankwanso and some few others.

The APC predictably may have such heavyweights like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Mallam Nasir Elrufai, Ganduje of Kano and some few others.

The just-concluded Edo elections have brought to fore the importance of a well-oiled propaganda machinery ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.

Arguably Oshiomhole whose influence has been unwavering for a long while is suddenly threatened, One of the reasons for the onslaught against Adams Oshiomhole is obviously the political interest of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of APC.

From Saturday’s experience in Edo State, any politician that ignores or fails to acknowledge the power of the new media is definitely unfit to be called a politician and should be ostracized from participating in anything politics whatsoever.

Edo State showed the efficacy of good first-class propaganda done well ahead of time.

Oshiomhole was effectively de-marketed using such means. The once-loved leader four years ago became a villain through the above-mentioned process in front of his people.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s latest onslaught might be a major storm Tinubu may never recover from if adequate measures are not taken well ahead of time.

Today we are taking a look at the dwindling chances of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 Presidential quest.

With the new nomenclature in politics that  Edo is not Lagos then Tinubu should look out for the greatest fight of his career.

Tinubu’s influence to his South West States might be rubbished if concerted efforts are not made on time to quench the current trend of Edo is Not Lagos, the earlier Asiwaju Tinubu sets up a strong media team to counter the coming deadly narratives the better for Jagaban.

Tinubu would become a villain in the very eyes of his own people in no time if he refuses to start protecting his hard-earned reputation as a democrat.

Going forward Tinubu should be expected to deal with a ruthless force in the person of Nyesom Wike who has shown to be politically rugged and commands a large fellowship of people who applaud his ruggedity.

Wike looks mean and fearless and ready to enter into any battle with anyone. At this stage Wike”s chances in becoming the president may look slim and foolish at this point in time but in reality, the Niger Delta still has unfinished scores to settle at Aso Rock to complete GEJ’s truncated second term.

Now the presidency which has Buhari as its arrowhead seems uncertain in showing support to Tinubu as all the lucrative interest Tinubu has in the Federal Government has been whittled down.

There is apparently a third force in the APC which is working against the leadership of the party, this third force may likely fallout from APC and stand on its own or may go to PDP and get the vice-presidential slot.

Sadly enough this third force is made up of APC serving governors and they played instrumental roles in Edo’s election held on Saturday.

Now it might interest you to know that the PDP controls the majority of the states that produce the Nations wealth. Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa are key states that control enough resources to swing the presidency to the PDP in 2023.

Buhari already is about to proceed on retirement and may likely be less bothered on who takes over from him, I won’t be surprised if the APC goes on a self destruct with Buhari’s obvious I don’t care attitude over party supremacy and discipline.

Kano on the other hand may witness a rebirth and maybe a deciding factor who produces the next president. Ganduje may suffer humiliation if he sits idle and does nothing to twist the narratives surrounding his personality.

Ganduje himself is sure to have a lot of negative dose coming his way, the Kano State Governor might be a liability to any candidate he supports if care is not taken.

What Tinubu needs to do…

From close observations, Tinubu should rally round Akerodolu to retain Ondo state and immediately begin a quiet Nationwide tour in reaching out to other progressives that are sympathetic to his aspiration.

Tinubu on the other hand should commission a well-structured media team to immediately shore his dwindling image and brace up for the ruthless media war set to attack his political family.

Lastly, Tinubu should create a plan B as his major opponents to his aspiration are within the ruling APC, although it still seems hazy if the Jagaban would take up the challenge for the 2023 presidency but one thing Tinubu should be aware of early enough is this…even if he does not participate in the 2023 presidency he would still face a bitter offensive from the aggressive warhorse of the PDP.

Take note whoever Tinubu throws his weight behind would be seen as a return to Godfatherism which seems to be the new game plan in securing victory.

The idea is to make Tinubu and Ganduje a political liability to whichever party they belong to.

It is going to be a Game of Thrones and the season has just begun.

We shall be giving daily updates on the likely turnout of events as we gradually approach in a new political dawn that has never ever been witnessed in the annals of our history.
