Over 7 Coaster Buses  Of Militants Imported From Rivers State Spotted At Sapele Road Heading Towards The City Centre

Benin City: There is palpable fear in Benin City as a youth group have alleged they spotted over seven coaster buses of militants alleged to be under the sponsorship of Obaseki heading towards the city centre this early morning.

The group claim the militants might be armed as they were stern-looking and very unfriendly when approached.

The group in a terse statement released said one of the coaster buses had a mechanical breakdown and as such stopped over at the Sapele road bye-pass for a fix.

See the statement below…

We are alerting the general public of the influx of militants we saw arriving Benin City some few hours ago and heading towards the City capital.

As early as 7 am today the 12th of September one of our members on his way to work spotted a coaster bus that was having some mechanical issues at Sapele Road bye-pass. On further scrutiny, he found out that the coaster bus was conveying strange people speaking Rivers dialect. The coastal bus had about 45 passengers.

Looking further he discovered about six other coaster buses parked further down the road with similar passengers.

Sensing danger the passengers were approached to explain their identity and their mission at that early hour of the day.

Immediately the other coaster buses saw the attention that their own presence was generating they quickly proceeded on their journey leaving the other coaster bus behind.

One of the passengers actually alluded to the fact that they were from Rivers State.

Our own quick independent findings point accusing fingers at Obaseki and Philip Shaibu behind the influx of these strange faces we believe to be militants exported from Rivers State.

We are using this means to call on the good citizens of Edo State to prevail on Obaseki to avert the shedding of innocent blood during next week governorship election in the State.

Recall some few days ago the APC and some other electoral stakeholders in Edo State cried out over what they claim is Obaseki’s plans to recruit militants from neighbouring Niger Delta States to disrupt the forthcoming election.
